WARNING ABOUT DARRON'S CORNER

This is a place where victims are free to share their stories. Because our stories involve abuse, some of the posts in this category may be triggering to others who are victims themselves. Please read at your own risk. I will NOT necessarily place trigger warnings on material that I post that may be triggering.

TRIGGERS - WHAT ARE THEY?

You may see me use this word from time to time. In SRA support groups, everyone knows what this word means.

Triggering is what happens to a victim when they are sub-consciously reacting, sometimes unpredictably to stimuli they may or may not be consciously aware of.

Usually the triggering stimuli, causes the victim to stop thinking logically, and becomes, for a temporary period of time, disoriented and confused possibly even frightened or becoming temporarily phobic or paranoid.

They sometimes will dissociate and their behavior and speech/communication may become deteriorated and irrational. Sometimes they will also switch into alter personalities if they are DID or MPD and they may or may not be consciously aware of it.

Some victims are being triggered only by the nature of the stimuli and to their emotional reaction to it, which may remind them of past abuses, sometimes but not always in an obvious symbolic connection.

Other victims may be reacting to Pre-programmed stimuli, the nature of which is unknown to the victim. In the latter case, specific post-hypnotic suggestions can be activated by a pre-determined code-phrase or symbol or symbol combination. This is of course theoretical trauma-based MK-Ultra conditioning.

Watch out for ADULT CONTENT AND MATURE CONTENT WARNINGS.

Adult Content Warning means Minors should not read this material at all.

Mature Content Warning indicates that the material should probably not be read by minors.
