CHAPTER VII
THE SLEEPOVER THE NEXT DAY

I acttually don't remember anything that happened the next morning either. This is all a black out, except for the following:

I was already up and dressed and I stood at the doorway to Scott's bedroom and noticed that he was sitting on the foot of the bed watching his little nine inch black and white TV set on top of his dresser.

It was some kind of sport's event. I don't remember if it was a football game or what it was.

Scott was just sitting there blankly staring at the screen.

     "Morning Scott," I said.

Silence in return. Scott didn't even turn his head to acknowledge me.

I stood there for several moments and then repeated myself, "Morning Scott."

Still silence; not even a turn of his head.

     "Scott," I said.

     He still didn't respond.

     "Scott!" I said.

Finally he turned and acknowledged me, but he didn't say anything.

     "What's the matter?" I asked.

Scott said something then that caused me to shiver all the way to my inner core.

Scott said, "My father is Satan." Then he casually turned his attention back to the television and continued to ignore my presence, it seemed my actual existence.

A few minutes later my dad knocked at the door, and I went to answer it and it was my dad. I got my things and left, and as far as I remember, Scott never moved from where he was sitting on the foot of his bed, and he never turned his attention away from the television.
