Yes, from what I understand, and I am not a lawyer.

A certificate of live birth can be issued to ANY legal immigrant, and they do not verify the information on it. That's the whole point. The Governor of Hawaii saying that Obama was born in Honolulu is interesting, was he there? That he can sign an affidavit that he saya Obama was born there.

I do not believe that you are correct. A certificate of Live Birth is NOT the same as a birth certificate. It does NOT have the same legal recognition. As I stated earlier, I could not prove I was born in this country with that type of a certificate.

That's what I understand. I don't have a certificate of live birth. Furthermore, was Obama born in what? did you say 2001? What the hell? Where is his friggin birth certificate!!!!!!!!

Love,
Darron

Ok, well, maybe you are right, but then again maybe you aren't. One thing that you keep saying that contradicts what I have been told is that a certificate of live birth is the same thing as a birth certificate. You have said this several times, and I have been told they are NOT the same.

From what I understand a birth certificate is issued to all persons AT THE TIME OF THEIR BIRTH, and is filed in whatever county you were born in. Generally the hospital where you born at is listed, and its all sealed and approved by that County.

If Obama was born in Honolulu, then his parents should have received a BIRTH CERTIFICATE for him. Which is not the same as a certificate of live birth. Nor is it the same thing as an abbreviated copy of your birth certificate. I used to have an abbreviated form of my birth certificate, which was much smaller and contained much less information, but was recognized as a legal birth certificate for all legal matters. In fact I could have asked for a WALLET SIZED birth certificate which would be legally recognized anywhere.

Like I said, I am not a lawyer. You are saying that in Hawaii if you request a birth certificate they will send you a certificate of live birth. I don't believe that is true, it contradicts what I have been told.

Let me give you an example.

My roommate Barry, has a certificate of live birth that was issued to him by the state of Arizona where he was raised by his parents. All three of them were born in Canada. When Barry went to the DMV to get his driver license in California, they REJECTED his certificate of live birth. They told him that this document is not proof of where you were born or your legal residence in the United States. He also had a passport and he was similarly told that a passport is not considered proof of your legal residence.

What he finally had to do to get his driver Licence in the state of California was he had to obtain an ORIGINAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE from Canada, along with his CITIZENSHIP Papers, then and ONLY then did they issue him a driver license.

If Obama was born in this country, back in the 60's or whatever, he should have been issued a BIRTH CERTIFICATE. What you say about the state of Hawaii changing the issuing of original birth certificates as Certificates of Live Birth, is something that I am unaware of.

I know in my case, in order to apply for Social Security Benefits I had to show them my Original Birth Certificate. They would accept NOTHING ELSE. Because I had lost the original I had to request another copy from the country I was born in in Texas. The state of Texas does not issue birth certificates, the county issues birth certificates, and from what I understand each county has their own department which handles this.

At any rate, what they sent me was a BIRTH CERTIFICATE.

If they had sent me something called something else, I would have demanded a birth certificate because a birth certificate is the only document that Social Security would accept.

My understanding is that certificates of live birth can be issued to any legal immigrant through the state in which they live. They do not verify the information on it. You can say on that certificate you were born in this country and they will issue it that way. That is why it is NOT ACDEPTED as proof that you were born here. yes you can get a passport with it-- because a passport doesn't prove where you were born either. It seems since this is concerning the STATE of Hawaii, we are in fact dealing with something other than a birth certificate.

But again maybe you're right. You seem to think that Obama has proven he was born here, and I don't think that he has, and there is a lot of people who feel this way, and so let's take it to court. If he was born in this country he should be able to prove it. So, what do you have against him going to court and proving it??

Love,
Darron

Now that I think about it, the governor's statement would be true. The state only issues certificates of live birth. That's not just true for the State of Hawaii, but all States. Because the state does not issue Birth Certificates in the first place, it's the County that you were born in that issues birth certificates.
